The saying goes: “You don’t get what you expect; you get what you inspect.” A chiropractic clinic is made up of a group of human beings. That being said, we humans do better when we know that someone is watching. It’s known as the Hawthorne Effect. Research shows that people simply improve their performance if they know that they are being measured.
This is the power of practice statistics. Figure out which practice stats are the most important to track – and track them. If you want to see growth in any area of your practice, determine which metrics best represent growth in that area and follow them closely – and publicly. Everyone on the team should understand these numbers and what they mean. Most importantly, make sure that you empower them with the knowledge of how to improve them. Stats are only fun if you feel like you can influence them.
